The Last City Biography
The Last City began in 2012 while Adrien and Lizbet Palmer were living abroad in Hiroshima, Japan. That core duo of an acoustic guitarist and a classically trained violinist, respectively, has since relocated to Dallas, Texas. There, they have expanded, bringing on bassist Lucas Reader. On their self-titled LP, you’ll find an Indie Chamber Pop sound, drawing from such influences as Damien Rice, John Mayer, The xx, One Republic and The Arctic Monkeys.
Their music is intended to remind us that we are all one. Their lyrics and music draw from various sources, mythologies, and experiences, but never fit just one box. The world will always be much bigger than that.
They released their first live album in late 2018, Cinderblock Sessions, a recording of their CD release show featuring a full string quartet, they are hard at work on their next project. Their next EP, Willfully Human, was fully crowdfunded. They journeyed to Boston to record the album and released it in 2021. They are hard at work on their next album, It Still Amazes Me, which they plan to release on vinyl. Visit Patreon to learn more.
