Robin OHerin has been a touring Delta and Piedmont blues and gospel musician since 2004, specializing in bottleneck blues and gosoel. Her concerts are historically rich, often interactive events that include original and traditional American music. She has played festivals, coffeehouses, & house concerts. Song selections may include Robert Johnson, Blind Willie Johnson and Robin's own original blues and fingerstyle ballads.
A three-time finalist in the Boston Blues Challenge, Robin was also a finalist in the 2013 Memphis Blues Challenge. She was a Telluride Blues Finalist in 2009. She played in the Tropea Blues Festival in Trope Italy in September '06. She was the headlining act in the Resophonic Blues Festival in Pilzen, CZ. in '05. She opened for the Doobie Brothers in Pittsfield, MA. and for Vance Gilbert and Michael Powers in Sept 04. Her arrangement of "Old Country Rock" and her original "Everhopeful" were used in the soundtrack for the PBS "2005 Roadtrip Nations" Series (episode 4).
Robin has shared the stage with Paul Geremia, Andy Cohen and Roy Bookbinder. She is currently working on a new gospel CD and then hopes to jump right into a new blues and original CD. She teaches beginning delta and piedmont blues guitar and songwriting and partners with raisingtheblues.org and guitarsintheclassroom.org to bring the power of music into the classroom and hospitals to reach children and teachers in new and innovative ways.
