Alicia Waller

Jazz vocalist and soprano, Alicia Waller, most recognized for her work as bandleader for the jazz fusion ensemble, Alicia Waller & The Excursion, returns to her classical roots in recital at the Harlem School of the Arts. Waller will present "Honey & Rue" by André Previn (1929-2019), "Scena from 'Ernestine,'” by Joseph Bologne (1745-1799), "A hush you could see" by Dale Trumbore (b. 1987), and "Words Like Freedom" by Leo Yablans (b. 1998). This program features the East Coast premiere of "A hush you could see" by Trumbore, which was written for Waller’s voice. Edward Callahan (piano) and Joey Duke (clarinet) will collaborate as featured performers.
