Sailor Jane

Ever since she can remember, Sailor Jane has been in love with music. She was first introduced in the church and found herself captivated by the mystery of frequency and vibration. As a young girl, she spent hours exploring and teaching herself the guitar and piano, which is the foundation of the artist you see today. Born in St. Augustine, Florida, Jane studied classical guitar at Douglas Anderson School of Arts in high school and received a degree in Audio Engineering from Full Sail University in Orlando, which is where her love of music production and songwriting blossomed. "I have always approached music with deep curiosity and sincerity", says Sailor. "Music is purely magic; sacred and sensual. I have always been interested in the spiritual, emotional, and healing aspects of music and song."

The nickname Sailor Jane was adopted during a time when she was spending her days sailing and adventuring throughout the Caribbean and Central/South America; along with her two best girl friends. The handle was a play on Sailor Jerry, a famous pinup tattoo artist and rum company. "Sailor Jane" became the femme twist on a seemingly male dominated world of sailors and adventurers, much like the music industry is today. "Sailor Jane" is essentially a concept; An embodiment of female artists, musicians, and adventurers who dare to set sail into the uncharted waters of male dominated industries.

Sailor Jane's 2020 debut single, "Ready for Love", established her place in the Reggae world, gaining her attention from radio DJ's all over. In 2021 came the progressive reggae track,"Into you", produced by Paris D. Lamont. This single features some of Jamaica's top reggae players and sets the tone for her 2023 release and first single "No Ordinary Love" from the forthcoming debut album No Ordinary Dub !

NO ORDINARY DUB - A Tribute To SADE, a full length LP, produced by Michael Goldwasser, co-founder of Easy Star Records and well known for his success with Billboard charting works, Dub Side of the Moon and touring band Easy Star All Stars.

NO ORDINARY DUB boasts a collection of fourteen "best of" classics by Sade; Re-imagined by Sailor Jane, delivered over classic rhythms of the reggae -dub genre. The album is peppered with sounds of yard; Roots, Ska, Dub, Dancehall, Afro Beat and Lovers Rock rhythms are laced with hypnotic bass lines, sultry vocals, executed with the best musicianship and production that modern reggae has to offer.


A sensual and versatile performer, Sailor Jane has warmed the stage in support of many national artists including Collie Buddz, The Wailers, Matisyahu, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub, Mishka, Kabaka Pyramid, Pato Banton, and Natali Rize to name a few. She has performed at festivals such as Fernandina Reggae Fest, Reggae Rise Up Florida, Regatta Time Tour in Abaco, Bahamas, Hulaween 2023, 90's Fest, Blue Crab Fest and more. ​

Beyond the studio, Sailor Jane is a compassionate healer with a heart for human rights advocacy. She is a registered nurse, specializing in emergency medicine and has worked for years providing disaster relief and crisis support to vulnerable communities throughout Latin America and Haiti. Sailor Jane is also most proudly a mother to beautiful daughter, Selah and recently beat her battle against Breast Cancer with a humble heart, steel mind and compelling determination to not only live, but THRIVE!
