Richard Ings embarked on his musical journey in 2018 when he first picked up a guitar, checking off a long-standing bucket list dream. Initially starting with fortnightly lessons, his passion for music quickly blossomed into an all-consuming love for the instrument, providing a captivating escape from the everyday.

As Richard's proficiency with the guitar grew, so too did his musical aspirations. His journey didn't stop at merely playing the guitar; it naturally progressed into singing, performing, and ultimately, writing original songs.

From tentative performances of cover songs at local open mic nights, Richard has impressively progressed to playing over 50 gigs in the past 12 months. His talent and dedication have led to the release of his first original song on major streaming services, and he's become a regular performer at several venues around Canberra.

Influenced by renowned singer-songwriters like Neil Finn, Paul Kelly, Paul Simon, James Taylor, and Neil Young, Richard's style resonates with depth and authenticity. He has written and copyrighted 15 original songs which he regularly performs at local events, demonstrating his growth and commitment to his craft.

Now, Richard has set his sights even higher. His future plans involve developing his performance skills to take on larger venues and folk music festivals. He is also keen to explore opportunities at corporate events and weddings.
