About this concert
Ofri is a singer-songwriter whose unashamedly candid lyrics and intricate piano-vocal arrangements form a particular (and peculiar) brand of chamber folk. Her artistic assuredness, not to mention the idiosyncrasies of a voice well-worn, imbue her songwriting with a startling clarity and vividness. Her debut single “Body” is a pensive manifesto concerned not just with the self, but also with the rising and falling tides that make up our fleeting identities. Borrowing stylistically from Sufjan Stevens and Moses Sumney, and arranged with Emily-Rose Sarkova (2023 Art Music Awards Jazz Work of the Year finalist), the track is a thoughtful and authentic entrance into the Sydney music scene. Supported by long-time friend and close collaborator EBS, this night of folk-jazz-pop fusion is not to be missed.

Ofri Biography
Ofri doesn’t like bios. In fact, it’s exactly this kind of self-aggrandising writing that the 23-year-old Sydney-based artist would rather avoid altogether – something that’s obvious once you spend any amount of time with the direct and unashamedly candid rumination that consists her particular brand of chamber folk. Perhaps even more immediately noticeable than her frankness is her voice, a wild animal which can inhabit every spectra of expression, from raw emotionality to heartfelt delicacy with every shade in-between. It’s precisely that assured confidence - those idiosyncrasies of a voice well-worn - that imbues her songwriting with a richness and clarity of concept.
