Thundermoon Biography

Thundermoon are an Edinburgh-based synth pop trio, formed when longtime pals Lorna Kelly, K Messer, and Shaz Jamieson joined forces to create a gender-bending synth sound with spacey harmonies, retro riffs, and punchy lyrics to sing along to. It’s an eclectic mix of synths & electronic music, and the band’s influences include LCD Soundsystem, CHVRCHES, Daft Punk, Underworld, 80’s synth, 90’s dance culture, the DIY queer scene, and old-school punk music.
Their debut EP “We’re Still Here” released in September 2023 followed the momentum of their first two singles “Wild” and “No Regrets”. The band were featured as The Skinny’s Spotlight On Artist for the launch of their EP, which also received support and airplay from Plastic Magazine, BBC Rapal, Jim Gelatley, Amazing Radio, The Music Mag, Mesmerized & Off The Record.
In June 2023 Thundermoon played the Sofar Sounds Pride Show, curated by Megan Black & Mike McKenzie. The band’s first year also included performances at Edinburgh’s Meadow’s Festival, the St James Quarter Sessions as part of Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival, plus many shows within the local DIY queer-punk scene. The band closed out their first year with a sold-out show for Sofar Sounds Edinburgh. Don’t miss Thundermoon’s next EP & singles set to drop in 2024 - songs to drown out capitalism and dance to in the forest with your pals.
