Humans Among Us

Humans Among Us is a psychedelic art rock/space funk band of musical cosmonauts that push the limits of sonic exploration with far-out drumbeats, powerful vocal hooks, sizzling guitar riffs, growling basslines, and tasty keyboard runs. They call their music “space groove,” and it’s 100% guaranteed to make you move. 
 
Forged in the crucible of rock, jazz, blues, soul, funk, acid, lo-fi chill, and doom, Humans Among Us labels their music as “The Doors meets Sade . . . but in outer space.” The band’s sound is a seductive blend of sonic explorations inspired by their deep love for such artistic talents as Pink Floyd, Morcheeba, Radiohead, Explosions in the Sky, Kavinsky, Menahan Street Band, Muse, and many others. Pulling from the classic sci-fi themes of exploration, understanding, epic adventure, and cosmic stakes, the band’s music is a carefully crafted — but always vibey — blend of smoky vocals and infectious rhythms. Their tunes invite listeners to join in on the band’s expedition to explore the vast cosmos of human life and love! This carries over in their live performances, which often take on a life of their own and present a unique and memorable audience experience every time.
 
Formed in 2020, Humans Among Us consists of Carin Steele (vocals), Aaron Steele (bass), Jason Villarreal (guitar), Ashe Davidson (drums), and Josh Kattner (keys). Their debut single, “We Come In Peace,” showcases the band’s distinct personality and mellow swagger with laid-back lounge undertones that immediately make listeners feel the transmogrifying soul, passion, and love that is Humans Among Us.
