For the last year they’ve been developing new works in tandem, mutually inspiring each other and finding artistic synergy over their shared love of monsters, folklore and legend. “Embers” is both an end and a beginning; a creative debut for both artists. Through music, poetry, painting, sculpture and dance, the GSN and Jyun present a “living album,” one that you can see, hear, touch and even taste. GSN will be performing her first full-length solo set of unreleased songs from her forthcoming LP, Chrysanthemum. Jyun will be displaying new work that playfully experiments with natural materials as a way to process loss, change, and growth. The performance will also feature Alan Chen on violin. We invite you to dream inside the dragon’s mouth with us. *** Tickets: $35 adv/$42 door Please arrive on time as the performances will start promptly. We want you to enjoy the full experience from start to finish. --- Artist Bios: Girl Swallows Nightingale is an electro-synth-art-pop-rock band based in Oakland, CA. Girl Swallows Nightingale Biography

Led by singer, songwriter & producer Marica Petrey, the Oakland-based fantasy rock band crafts intricate song structures buoyed by infectious funk grooves and heady harmonies. Storytelling and movement are central to their music; the band thrives where sensory planes intersect. Girl Swallows Nightingale's debut album, Shapeshifter, breathes life into a world of ghostly tales and memory fireflies. Imbued with gauzy soundscapes, technical arrangements, and a rich narrative nestled in the realm of fantasy and science fiction, each track conjures a cinematic experience. In 2020, Shapeshifter was released in conjunction with a set of editorial photos, each work a window into the album's universe and the mythic characters who roam there.

Their second album is scheduled for release in summer 2023.
