Simply Spice Tribute Biography
Hold on to your knickers, we are North America's most authentic Spice Girls tribute!
The Spice Girls have sold 85 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling female group of all time, one of the best-selling pop groups of all time, and the biggest British pop success since The Beatles.
Simply Spice is made up of 5 talented vocalists whose love of everything Spice led them to the creation of the band.
It started with a "wouldn't it be fun to do a tribute to the Spice Girls?!" conversation while heading to a gig in Sudbury ON. At the time, 3 of the 5 current members were performing in a tribute to pop music featuring Fifth Harmony, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. With the intense rehearsals required for this act, the idea was shelved as it just wasn't the right time.
Fast forward 3 years later and the idea presented itself again.
With Scary, Sporty and Posh already on deck they needed two more.
Having toured with the pop show as a Meghan Trainor tribute (and of course as a friend) Baby Spice was a no-brainer. But Ginger - that was a feat. The search lasted a year. Scouring the internet, reaching out through industry connections, want ads...nothing. Once reaching the point of giving up, something magical happened.
Suddenly out of nowhere, there were multiple singers requesting an audition.
It was narrowed to 3 lovely artists and eventually, the perfect Ginger Spice made the band complete!
Marissa as Scary Spice - Seemingly shy at first, brings out her inner "Scary" once the music starts. The resemblance to the 90's superstar is uncanny. The moves, the vocals, the mannerisms...You have to see it to believe it.
Abby as Baby Spice - Her sweet melodious vocals mixed with spot on harmonies will make you think you're hearing the real deal. Baby is known for her adorable style and bubbly personality - and Abby delivers.
Melissa as Posh - If anyone was made to play a popstar whose known for wearing black and never smiling - she is it. With a strong background in dance she is able to capture Posh's signature poses with ease all while offering a sultry vocal into the mix.
Natasha as Sporty - What can we say? With pipes like these, she is the epitome of Mel C. Her dance and gymnastic ability is only part of the reason why she was born to play this role. Her range and vocal ability is so powerful, you are witnessing an absolute superstar. Wait until you hear it!
Jen as Ginger - The sassiest Spice Girl's platforms were not easy to fill but she does so effortlessly. Her infectious smile, incredible dance ability and smooth jazzy vocals make her the perfect person to play (arguably) everyone's favourite Spice.
The World wasn't ready for the group to disband, and that is why Simply Spice has meticulously combed old concert footage to bring you the Spice Girls of the 90's. Custom made costumes (and multiple changes) make you remember watching Top of the Pops and the Brit Awards in '97. The choreography reminds you of watching the Live in Instabul concert on Much Music, and then running to your room afterwards to make up your own moves.
Backed by a band of up to 5 musicians or simply to track, this show is the meaning of nostalgia.
