Mit Jamaican Jazz und handfesten Reggae-Grooves bringen Wood In Di Fire bei ihren Live-Sessions die Dancehall zum Toben. Was als Jam-Projekt von Musikern aus verschiedenen Berliner Bands begann, hat sich zur festen Formation entwickelt. Doch der Session-Gedanke ist immer noch lebendig: Die Bandmitglieder und Gäste bringen die verschiedensten Einflüsse aus Reggae, Jazz, Ska, Latin und Afro-Beat mit und sorgen damit immer wieder für überraschende Kicks.
Auf zahlreichen Touren durch Deutschland, Österreich, Frankreich, Spanien, Ungarn und der Schweiz begeisterten Wood In Di Fire ihr Publikum mit ihrer außergewöhnlichen, interkontinentalen, musikalischen Fusion auf treibenden Reggae Beats und Jazzy Grooves.
Seit das Projekt im Jahre 2000 startete, spielt Wood In Di Fire traditionell im Berliner „Schokoladen“. Der bis heute monatlich stattfindende Reggae-Jam wurde schnell vom Geheimtipp zum etablierten Termin der Berliner Reggae-Szene.

Wood In Di Fire delivers a pulsating mix of Jamaican jazz melodies and sick reggae grooves. It began as a jam project for Berlin musicians and later crystalized into a permanent ensemble. But Wood In Di Fire has always remained true to its roots. Band members and frequent guest musicians bring together a wide range of influences – reggae, jazz, trip hop, ska, electro and Latin – in surprising combinations.
Critics have praised the recordings of Wood In Di Fire, with the band’s first full-length album ¿QUE PASA? landing in the top-ten list of Riddim for 2003. Like ¿QUE PASA?, OFF THE HOOK (2005) and NOON ON THE MOON (2008) were recorded live in a barn in Germany’s rural Uckermark. Both gar- nered attention for their fusion-style compositions and arrangements.
The band’s new album is slated for release in 2014. Though it will be a complete studio production, the band will continue to record the entire group at the same time. As in previous albums, Wood In Di Fire plans to showcase its fresh approach and love for music.
Since the band was founded, in 2000, Wood In Di Fire has traditionally played once a month in Berlin’s Schokoladen. Its reggae jams developed quickly from a secret happening to a regular fix- ture in the Berlin reggae scene. Wood In Di Fire has also taken its freaky musical fusion on the road, playing tours in Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Hungary and Switzerland.
