Al O’Kane

Al O'Kane morphs swampy blues and folk into the sound of “Celtic resistance rock’n'roll" -  this is “West Country Gumbo from the Somerset Delta” - “a cry for action nestled into a fiery acoustic blend” (Davey Ray Moor).

Having completed a European tour before the pandemic hit, Al had just won the Shrewsbury Folk Festival Open Mic Competition and is back to perform at the 2024 festival!

2020-2021 saw four crowdfunded and self-produced releases, which are available on all music providers - along with his self-titled debut album - on which he worked with many incredible acoustic musicians and was co-produced with Steve Evans (Robert Plant, Goldfrapp).
