Council Ring Biography
Council Ring is a psychedelic rock band from Charlotte, North Carolina. Their music varies between melodic soundscapes and hard-rock riffing; their lyrics range from personal growth and self-discovery to popular moments found at a local bar. The songs seem familiar, yet original, and the energy of the band focuses on good songwriting and thrilling instrumentation.
With Matt Kavanugh on bass, Quint Gallaher on drums, Ian Hirsch on keyboards, Chris Jan on vocals, and Ty Mattox on guitar, Council Ring has established itself as a live performance act and relies on improvisation and creativity to make each night different. As their musicianship continues to evolve, the band seeks new sonic boundaries to cross in their albums and on stage.
Council Ring released their first self-produced single “Stand” in July of 2021 and their second single “Catching Eyes” in April of 2022. Their debut album Beyond the Door comes out on all streaming platforms in August 2022: displaying a range of musicality, the album takes the listener on an adventure that proves to be well worth the trip. The band has played at clubs, bars, and music festivals in the North Carolina region. Their experience continues to grow as does their fan base, and they are constantly searching for new milestones to climb to.
