About this concert
After midnight on Sunday April 28th (technically early morning Monday), please us for a special late-night show at Chickie Wah Wah! Co-hosted by two rising and completely badass NOLA-based singer-songwriters, Sari Jordan and Renée Gros, Song Space is going to be a songwriter showcase created for you to unwind at the finish line of your first weekend at Jazz Fest. The event features Renée & Sari, as well as songwriters Tiago Guy, Amethyst Starr, and John Fohl. This eclectic lineup is backed by an all star band: Rob Kellner (Tank and The Bangas) on keys, Danny Abel (Tank and The Bangas) on guitar, Alfred Jordan Jr. (Big Sam’s Funky Nation) on drums, and Grayson Brockhamp (Nicholas Payton) on bass. Renée Gros Biography

Renée Gros is a singer and songwriter born, raised, & based in New Orleans, LA. Known for her powerfully soulful voice, Renée's performances have captivated audiences on stages in her hometown and across the country, including the world famous Tipitina's, House of Blues Chicago, and Chickie Wah Wah. Most recently she backed up Warren Haynes, Joe Bonamassa, Allen Stone, and George Porter Jr. at The Fillmore for the 2023 edition of Tulane University's The Tipping Point, singing in the house band under the direction of Eric Krasno.
Influenced by the sounds of her hometown, her debut EP Temporary Love combines the energy of vintage Rhythm & Blues with Renée’s quirkily vulnerable storytelling, and features players including Jon Cleary (Bonnie Raitt), Nigel Hall (Lettuce), and Ivan Neville (Dumpstaphunk). The debut single "Shy Guy" can be heard in A24's Netflix Original series, Survival of the Thickest, starring comedian Michelle Buteau. Renée is looking forward to heading into the studio in early 2024 to begin work on her highly-anticipated debut album.
