About Wroht
Wroht is a metal band from the San Francisco Bay Area that blends slamming death metal groove with technical complexity & intense vocal performances.
"Worship Rot", Wroht's debut album released in 2018, was praised as “a galloping death feast... [with] influences ranging from Morbid Angel to Behemoth to Death and Decapitated” by Path to Babylon. The album draws inspiration from old-school death metal while infusing modern elements of groove and slamming breakdowns, resulting in a memorable and crushing debut album. Lyrically, the album reflects on the destructive consequences of societal and personal issues, exploring the psychological effects of trauma delivered with a raw and unfiltered intensity. While their themes may touch on darkness and despair, Wroht's music is also empowering and exhilarating, inspiring fans to headbang and let loose.
After a hiatus for five years, Wroht is back with renewed vigor and evolves their sound with the release of their new track, "Forged in Fire". Drenched in slamming, mind-bending grooves and relentless guttural vocal intensity, this song represents the first glimpse of what you can expect out of Wroht's 2nd full-length album due to release later in 2024.
