Marcus Price remembers Carli from those electric boogaloo sessions of their shared Stockholm adolescence. Carli, he says, was the shy guy who always waited until everyone else had shown off their skills and then had to be dragged into the dance circle to finally show off his. Once he got going, though, it would always quickly become obvious that no-one on the school yard could test him. Carli, of course, remembers Marcus too. Just a few years after their last break dance session together, Marcus would conquer the Scandinavian hip hop scene with his rap quartet Fattaru. Carli, still his own harshest critic, was sitting at home, trying to get his head around the inner workings of his first hardware sampler. Today, Carli is known as the immensely talented dance music maestro and genre defying party DJ whose production skills have resulted in high profile collaborations with pop stars like Robyn and Rebecca & Fiona as well as club hits with Savage Skulls and Crookers. Carli's secret lies in the effortless, precise way in which he perfectly balances on the edge of ruff 'n' rugged street beats and polished, bombastic pop euphoria. Marcus Price's Fattaru outfit released their last record in 2006. Since then, Marcus has re-invented himself as a hyper-versatile producer/DJ who is constantly pushing the boundaries of the modern Swedish music scene he's largely responsible for building up.
