About this concert
Unofficial Stones afterparty! Big Light returns to the Hi-Ho for the 3rd year in a row for another late night throw-down. The SF psych rockers invite all Stones fans in the neighborhood to keep the party going after the Fairgrounds wraps and delight in some new, old-fashioned rock n' roll. Joining the bill for his second round is longtime friend-of-the-band, Joel Cummins, keyboardist & vocalist for Umphrey’s McGee (umphreys.com) who will combine forces with Tanner Bardin of Eminence Ensemble (emincenceensemble.com) for a set of Umphrey’s tunes, singalong covers and jams. Also included in the festivities will be Scott Page, sax player for Pink Floyd. Expect plentiful sit ins and a good time.Big Light will kick things off around 9pm.

Big Light Biography

“It’s the great Bay Area face melt” - Daytrotter

Big Light was born in San Francisco’s Mission District in 2006, and immediately stole the hearts
of many on the local indie scene. 17 years and 6 albums later, the band achieved cult status in
their home town & have proven themselves reliable for delivering high-energy,
heart-on-their-sleeves live sets. 2022-23 saw memorable gigs in New Orleans & the Bay Area
with longtime confederates Rotary Downs and The Slip, as well as a surprise set of Bowie
covers at Petaluma’s Mystic Theatre, with Greg Loiacono of the Mother Hips augmenting the
quartet for the occasion.

2024 will see Big Light return to Nola to host their 3rd annual JazzFest after-party. In the
meantime, the band is finishing work on a new LP with engineer & collaborator Kevin
Friedrichsen, slated for release this fall.
