About this concert
You demanded them back to The Bank Top Tavern so we couldn’t let you down. The 0161 Manchester Underground Metal Community Promotions and The Distortion Project decided that it was only right that Irish doom gods The Crawling came back to Oldham. Their last venture here was a huge success. We have stuck to 2 amazing local support acts. Our main support are Carnal Creation and this will be their first ever event. If you know which band members are in the band then you’ll know that they’re automatically going to smash it. Our opening act are a band making waves on the Manchester underground scene. Napierdalać Band are gaining some hype so of course it was only right we had them on this. We are absolutely ecstatic to finally be able to announce this show. 3 amazing bands. Make sure you drop May 31st in your diary. It’s another free entry event as well with links to local buses and trams which are only minutes away from the venue. 18+ Parking free at venue but you must put your car reg into the tablet located inside the venue. Failure to do so will result in a parking fine Rich Price Photography Labyrinth Tattoo Collective NJØRD

The Crawling Biography

Formed in the winter of 2014 from Lisburn city, Northern Ireland; The Crawling use a guttural vocal to combine melancholy with weight, churning out a heavy, doom/death ensemble. January 2015 saw the single ‘Choking On Concrete,’ followed in October by the highly successful EP 'In Light of Dark Days.'

April 2017 the debut album, 'Anatomy Of Loss' was released, receiving excellent reviews worldwide, and was streamed exclusively by Metal Hammer UK. 2018 was the year of, ‘Wolves and the Hideous White’ featuring six tracks, and again receiving excellent reviews and response from media.

With live music gone, 2021 came around much too quickly, and whilst working on the new album The Crawling released the single; “Sparrow”, also featuring a B-side Bjork cover of “Play Dead.” 2022/2023 saw the band back on the road headlining dates across the UK, and at home, supporting the single.

Touring was put on hold, the recording process stated, and 7 new tracks including a reworking of Sparrow was completed. The new album entitled “All Of This For Nothing” explores the human desire to be accepted, fit in, to be part of perceived normality; despite the reality that nothing matters due to the finite nature of existence. The album also looks at the consequence of said actions, and the accountability culture is assisting in removing.

The Crawling have established their live performance with support from a loyal fan base; most notably appearing at Inferno Metal Festival (Norway), Bloodstock Open Air (UK), Seige of Limerick (IRE), Metal Days (SLO), Shellshockfest (Malta), Uprising (UK), Incinerationfest (UK), Mammothfest (UK) and Full Metal Mensa (GER), recent tours with Winterfylleth & Gaera, and Irish tour with Carcass. The Crawling are highly active on all social media platforms, and have continued support from Grindscene Records.
