mundane Biography

Mundane emerged from the DIY scene of Gothenburg, Sweden, carving out a niche in the indie rock space by blending grunge, garage rock, and emo with a nod to the '90s. In the early 2010s, Gothenburg's underground scene struggled to stay alive as the city's DIY venues closed. What started as a rehearsal space evolved into a melting pot and community for the alternative scene, which was named Sekten (The Cult). During this time of growth in the alternative community, Mundane was formed.

Mundane has shared the stage with bands like Oso Oso, Prince Daddy and the Hyenas and I Love Your Lifestyle, as well as being featured in PSL, HYMN, Washed Up EMO, becoming a notable presence in the scene.

In 2024, they entered a new phase of sound inspired by Pixies, Nirvana, Weezer, American Football, and Modern Baseball. The upcoming singles, starting with 'Never Change' on May 10th, will pave the way for the release of Mundane's debut album 'ULTRA SOUND'. This album combines the band's indie rock influences with the spirit of punk and emo roots.

With the debut album 'ULTRA SOUND' set to release in the fall of 2024 and a Nordic spring tour, Mundane remains committed to the ethos that inspired their formation. The objective is to continue building and growing alongside the community. Follow to stay up-to-date on the latest releases.
