About this concert
Ty Rex & Friends present a very special edition of Open House, our monthly devotional music series! Join us Wednesday, April 17, for a surround-style meditation under four pianos, played by Ty Rex, Lucy Khanyan, Braden Pontoli, and Alex BH. We'll be drifting off in the vintage Hollywood-themed residence of my friend Matteo and his private collection of restored golden-age grand pianos!
Please bring comfortable blankets/pillows for floor seating (meditation/soundbath-style).
Dress comfy and loungy, with a vintage hollywood twist if you so desire :)

Ty Rex Biography
In the ever-evolving spheres of classical and ambient music, Ty Rex is diligently practicing a personal, sonic spirituality. A lifelong devotee of the piano and improvisation, Ty invites himself and the listener into a sanctuary of healing where the dichotomies of life, the unanswered questions and paradoxes, find rest.
Ty Rex (abbreviated from Tyler Rex) debuted his first album Rumors of War within the solitude of quarantine and a world in flux, capturing the existential questions of a generation facing loneliness and uncertainty. His subsequent long-form single Apricity (Genesis 210131) meditates on the arrival of spring from the poetic stillness of winter.
In person, Ty Rex has introduced "Open House," an intimate series that reconsiders the purpose of performance altogether. Attendees enter a multi-hour, improvised meditation from rotating musicians, while listening from cushions and pillows, sound-bath style in a restorative, rest-filled evening.
