insects (UK) Biography
Formed in 2021 as the brainchild of lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Rich Kinrade, insects started as an electronic project with some punk influences, slowly becoming a punk project with electronic instances. In 2021 Kinrade released the bands first two EPs, 'You Should Know I Will Never Recover From This' parts one and two. This was followed up by the projects debut full length, 'Are You Ok?', in 2022 cementing the move towards a more pop-punk/punk centred sound.
By the end of 2022, insects had moved on from being Kinrade's bedroom project, and had become a three piece powerhouse thanks to the inclusion of drummer Tom Salmon and lead guitarist/vocalist Luke Oldfield.
2023 saw insects make their live debuts and also saw the band return to the studio to begin work on their next release.
Over the next 9 months Kinrade and Oldfield began writing, recording and producing 'Burn It Before It Lays Eggs'. The new EP combined Kinrade's lyrical and melodic sensibilities with Oldfield's technical and production skills, resulting in their best music to date.
'Burn It Before It Lays Eggs' is due to be released on 17.05.24 and will be supported by follow up gigs in the following months.
