TJ Douglas (formerly Tica Douglas) celebrates the release of their new album, Dying, on vinyl, cassette and streaming, with a multidisciplinary night of music, poetry, and performance. TJ Douglas (Our Ladystar of the Sea, Joey) has always written music about their life. For the last 5 years, TJ's life has been spiritually, emotionally and physically accompanying people who are dying as a palliative care hospital chaplain grounded in contemplative traditions, but without a particular religious tradition / affiliation of their own. The 11 songs of Dying are accordingly full of love and grief, life and death, and humanity. The release show will include many voices, including some of Brooklyn's best songwriters as well as poets and writers who are some of TJ's chaplain and palliative care colleagues. This will lead up to TJ performing Dying live, with accompaniment from Kyle Morgan. Please join us for a beautiful night of art & heart. Tickets: $15 advance / $15 at the door
