SugarPunch! live show recipe
Prep time: 45 to 60 minutes
Step one: You take four guys from the metalcore / punk scene, and you’re gonna mix them with a miniature version of Avril Lavigne.
Step two: You add a high dosage of energy to the mix and spread it out on a stage.
Warning: The mixture might move itself across the stage. This is totally okay. Let it happen.
Step three: You’re gonna kook the batter with a few dynamic hooks and catchy lyrics. It will slowly start to boil.
Step four: The recipe is almost finished. Are your feet beginning to tap? Are you having trouble standing still?
Ding! Now’s the time to take a bite out of our SugarPunch! Show! Mmm… Keeps you coming back for more!
Biography
SugarPunch! Is a five-headed rockband from The Netherlands. Inspired by bands such as Skunk Anansie, Paramore and Guano Apes, these gentlemen and lady are creating solid poprock with clear influences from metalcore.
Leadsinger Janneke knows how to keep the attention the entire set, in which she effortlessly channels between larynx-ripping aggression and earpleasing whispers.
While rhythm guitarist Martijn, bass player Gerwin and drummer Rick provide their fundamental wall of sound, Janneke, along with lead guitarist Michael, make for an unforgettable live performance in which jumping, moshing and dancing is most definitely encouraged.
With their catchy melodies and sing-a-long lyrics they will make for a dynamic performance which never seizes to enjoy the audience. You will definitely remember this band!
In 2022 SugarPunch! released their first single “Let You Fall”. Gaining followers and playing everywhere they possibly could.
This year they released their new single “I Want It All”. With this new single came a surge of popularity and demand for the band. Which becomes even more clear as their music video for “I Want It All” has already been viewed over 16.000 times.
Embracing their DIY mentality, this band has proven themselves worthy of various stages across The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Small cafés got traded in for clubs and festivals. The bands undeniable growth is not only showcased in streams and views, but also in the steady supply of gigs.
With 2023 almost fully booked, the band is currently looking for new places to play in 2024.
