About this concert
Ross Thorn With a pastoral upbringing in northern Wisconsin, Ross Thorn’s music emanates as a warm and soulful hymn, waking up optimistically beside a snow-covered window. His sharply crafted lyrics—distinctly reminiscent to the likes of Jason Isbell—reveal internal struggles of empathy, questions of human character and virtue, and a search for hope, often finding solace in some unanticipated truth. The Spine Stealers The Spine Stealers are a two-gal duo, making spooky folk influenced by the northwood pines, 24/7 truck stop diners, heartbreak and dark lakes. Music started by learning guitar together around bonfires in their shared hometown during the height of the pandemic. Their songs draw on memories from winters that rust bones, the heartaches of nostalgia and broken ideas of love– to prove we all share a melancholy of sorts. The Penny Peaches Blood harmonies. Sweet songwriting. Country fiddle. Dad on the drums. The Penny Peaches are singing sisters Hattie and Grace Peach with their father, John Peach, keeping time in the background. The trio delivers a rustic, back-porch sound that soars and dives like the Swedish sister duo First Aid Kit without the accent. In the Americana dream world, a tour with Minneapolis brother band the Cactus Blossoms would be endless. The Penny Peaches delivered a self-titled debut EP in 2021 and are recording an 11-song follow-up album planned for release in 2024.
