About this concert
[magyarul alább] ▧ Inverted Spectrum Records presents the first edition of Festival of Abnormal Music (FAM), scheduled to happen in Budapest from the 8th to 11th of May, 2024, in Turbina, Gödör, Auróra, Gólya, Dobozi 21, Blutorange, Susuka, and Népszíntér, with 26 bands and djs from Budapest, Dunaújváros, Debrecen, Belgrade, Ankara and Tokyo. ▧ FAM is a multi-genre alternative music festival that deliberately violates the borders between established musical styles, subcultures, and social circles, and features diverse forms of music such as heavy psychedelic rock, avant-garde jazz, experimental electronics, industrial music, math rock, synth punk, outsider singer-songwriters, free improvisation, and progressive pop. It is not an experimental music event in the narrow sense; a lot of the music you will find in FAM is very rock'n'roll. Rather, the emphasis is on authentic, uncompromising musical acts that do not fit clearly even into non-mainstream genres; the festival aims to capture a hard-to-define but striking artistic quality which we can call "abnormality". ▧ The festival will begin on May 8, Wednesday, in Dobozi 21, with the opening of the exhibition by the Serbian outsider artist and musician Arhivista (Dunavski Buzukije). The schedule of all four days of the event can be found below. Detailed information about all participating artists to be posted soon. ▧ Entrance is 4500 huf per day and tickets are available only at the door. Events in Dobozi 21, Susuka, and Blutorange are donation-based. The afterparty in Népszíntér is free of charge. Mind a négy nap programja alább található. Hamarosan további információkkal szolgálunk az összes résztvevő művészről. ▧ A belépő 4500 huf naponta, jegyek csak a helyszínen kaphatók. A Dobozi 21-ben, a Susukában és a Blutorange-ban megrendezett eseményekre a belépő: adomány. Afterparty a Népszíntérben: ingyenes. ☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐■■■■■■■■ ⦿ May 8, Wednesday Dobozi 21 (Arhivista exhibition opening): 19:00 Dunavski Buzukije [Belgrade] (outsider balladeer) 19:40 Özüm İtez [Ankara] (experimental solo guitar) Turbina (bar area): 20:00-22:00 Suhaid Turbina (club room): 21:00 Dupla Eutanázia (trash punk / trash pop) 22:00 Stone Sober (alternative psych rock) 23:00 Power Flower (synth punk / egg punk) 00:00 Korgoth (raw math rock) ⦿ May 9, Thursday Gödör (bar area): 20:00 Dr. Sarıhan [Ankara] 22:00 Dr. Somolo Gödör (concert hall): 21:00 Lego Lassi (experimental jazzfunk) 22:00 heavenphetamine [Tokyo] (Japanese kraut rock) 23:00 (halál;orgazmus) (poetic discopunk) Blutorange: 00:15 HunterKron (techno w/ modular synths) ⦿ May 10, Friday Susuka: 20:00 Alley Catss (experimental electronics / free improv) Auróra: 21:00 Gentry Sultan (dadaist psych jazz) 22:00 Crno Dete [Belgrade] (free noiserock / turbo jazzpunk) 23:00 Lyuhász Lyácint Bt. Band In The Pit Biography

Back in 2010, it was just a music documentary about a guitarist and a drummer.
Then the two left the pictures behind so that together they could create a unique world of their music. Finally, they grew into a trio just to firm their vision into a final form.
If you put all the different music styles as towns onto a map, then the Band In The Pit, this drummer-bass-guitar trio could mean that dusty motel right next to the highway between unknown cities.
First, you might think it's some kinda stoner rock, but take a closer look you'll find out that it points the way beyond the stoners' territory.
Their long instrumental songs are might build up from manically repeated circle themes while reaching back and forth between start and end till there's nothing left.
They won't try to follow the regular verse-verse-ref-verse composition. Szabolcs Késmárky's guitar play shows more connection with the hill country blues than with the so-called heavy riffs.
The fractured sound that's coming through the pedals is far from the chokingly heavy air of the swamps of Louisiana but reflects the contour lines of that soft dust that burnt on the amplifier's cathode tube.
You put all this on the Norman Prókai and Vilmos Schneider rhythm section created groove centric frame, and thanks to its repetitive nature you have the feeling to move.
And finally, after a ten, fifteen minutes long balancing it suddenly breaks its orbit, reaches the ground, collapses the world you know before, and releases hell from all corners of the stage. For the last couple of minutes, we leave the stoner vision behind and step into an unknown territory of psychedelic rock.
And then it stops.
And you may return to your life.
