Tuesday, May 21st welcomes critically acclaimed composers and co-leaders, Ruthie Dineen and Andrew Lion, of large-format group, Negative Press Project, with a retrospective and presentation of new music at Portland's beloved Northeast stage, Alberta Street Pub, Portland, OR. This night features a co-bill with Todd Marston's Integer Quintet- surely an exciting evening of creative music and improvisation. D/L QUINTET is a sub-group of Negative Press Project, the large-format jazz/indie-art/post bop inspired original music collective originally from Oakland, California and driven by bassist Andrew Lion and pianist Ruthie Dineen. The pair released The Victorious Sessions, their first album since 2019’s Within, winter of 2023 on Ridgeway Records and an exclusive translucent-teal vinyl version on Envelopmental Music Records February 2.
