NWD Projects and Live Arts Miami presents: NATIONAL WATER DANCE Saturday, April 20, 2024 Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center 6767 Crandon Blvd, Key Biscayne, FL 33149 FREE RSVP Event Schedule: 3PM – Dream In Green’s Eco-Summit and pre-show activities 4PM – National Water Dance commences 5PM – Debris Free Oceans Beach Clean Up 6PM – Sunset Happy Hour Join us Earth Day Weekend for an unforgettable arts adventure on the sands of Crandon Beach Park with National Water Dance. A catalyst that encourages ongoing engagement between artists and the environment, National Water Dance is a biannual event across the United States that brings attention to our waterways by recruiting dancers, musicians and visual artists to unite for action in a simultaneous performance around bodies of water. Now in its 6th edition, with the theme of “Moving Forward Together”, the headlining event in Key Biscayne will feature some of Miami’s most beloved dance companies including NWD Projects, Dance Now! Miami, Olujimi Dance Collective, Karen Peterson & Dancers, Jubilation Dance Ensemble, Thryn Saxon and more! Enjoy special performances by Inez Barlatier, NWS Fellow Jiyoung Lee and the Miami Sound Choir. Beyond the extraordinary dance and music, participate in eco-activities with the entire family in celebration of Earth Day! Join naturalists on the trails surrounding Biscayne Nature Center for a look at the native flora, check out Dream In Green’s student eco-summit, participate in a beach clean-up organized by Debris Free Oceans, and cap off the afternoon with a sunset Happy Hour in the beautiful coral courtyard.

Inez Barlatier Biography

Inez Barlatier is a Haitian-American multidisciplinary performing artist. Her music is inspired by multi-cultural wisdom and rhythms. Her children’s show, Ayiti: Stories & Songs from Haiti, has been featured in international conferences and tours the U.S.

Inez's work has been featured on several Miami news programs, national radio, television and streaming stations as well as in independent films Razing Liberty Square by Katja Esson, Madame Pipi by Rachelle Salnave & LUDI by Edson Jean. Internationally, she has performed in the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Spain, Central America, Cuba, Cameroon and Haiti.
