Kerry Freeman Biography

Born and raised on the dusty plains of west Texas, Kerry Freeman was exposed at an early age to music. Gospel, country music, western swing and even Texas blues. This music was as much a part of him as the dirt and the wind that never seemed to go away. He has spent his life making music, and with the recent release of his studio album "It's Texas" it is obvious those influences have had a profound impact on him as an artist. Kerry has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in country music and toured in 8 countries.

"For me what matters most are the relationships I've made along the way. The people I've met and the places I've been, those two things have made me who I am today. My hope is that in some small way these songs can help tell that story."

"IT'S TEXAS" is a blend of 90’s Country, Texas Country, and Americana. Produced by Kevin Montgomery and recorded at Sundog Studios in Nashville Tennessee, “IT’S TEXAS” features an All-Star lineup of Nashville heavyweights. Bob Britt (Bob Dylan, Delbert McClinton, Leon Russell) on guitar. Dave Roe (Johnny Cash, Dwight Yoakam, John Mellencamp) on bass. John McTigue (Don McLean, Rodney Crowell, Raul Malo) on drums. Bruce Bouton (Garth Brooks, Ricky Skaggs) on steel guitar. Billy Contreras (Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart) on fiddle. Al Perkins (Eagles, Rolling Stones, Emmylou Harris) steel guitar and dobro. Scotty Huff (Keith Urban, The Mavericks) guitar and vocals. Scott Saunders (Sons of the Desert, Phil Vassar) piano.
