The SymphoNYChorus Biography

The SymphoNYChorus is a faith-based community of vocalists & instrumentalists committed to sharing the message of God's love with musical creativity, passion & excellence.

The SymphoNYChorus, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in 2008 by Henric Ideström. Henric came to TSC after serving as Chair of the Arts at Rocky Mountain College for 8 years. We have seen a tremendous amount of growth over the years, growing from the 6 members that attended the first rehearsal to our current group of 35 vocalists and 15 instrumentalists.

The SymphoNYChorus is a group of volunteers committed to professional excellence with members coming together from all boroughs of New York City and the surrounding tri-state area. We put on two major productions a year, one at Christmas and a themed concert in the spring , while also performing regular repertoire in the region once or twice a month. Our music spans across the genres - gospel, contemporary, classical, Broadway, spirituals, and more. We have also produced 3 albums, which you can find in our new online shop!

All are welcome as members of The SymphoNYChorus, and to attend our events and concerts, regardless of age, sex, race or color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, or disability.
