Melanie Dekker, hails from Deep Cove, North Vancouver. Her dutch background handed her an easy-going & sassy style. Musical diversity. Sunshine. Love & soulfulness; combine all this with an entertainer whose vivacious spirit tours a shedload, and whose songs tug on your heart. She’ll come on stage with a telecaster on her shoulder, an acoustic in one hand, and a banjo on her knee. You may hear the influences of Tracy Chapman, Sheryl Crow & Karen Carpenter. The Co-writer & producer Allan Rodger is on bass AND guitar, and he has played over 200 shows with Melanie. With his multi-instrumentalist musicality he runs Crosstown Studios and arm wrestles Miss Dekker sometimes for the gear shift, as he he is usually the Captain of his projects; of note likes to steer an actual ship as well. He was first influenced by CCR, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Wonder. This smooth yet devil may care combo eat & breathe music. These two may also have a special guest from Karlsruhe join in on drums, Buchi. You can feel a delightful kinship between them bouncing like sparks off the stage. Buchi adds a special layer of feistiness, and is like a brother to Melanie & Allan. He's performed world-wide and in-class with the Hot House Flowers and is a star in his home town.
