About this concert
In an encore extension of Piano Day – the international piano celebration on the 88th day of the year started by Nils Fram – three pianists/composers from three countries present three distinct perspectives on contemporary classical piano music. Tom Blankenberg (Germany), Nathan Shubert (Canada), and Sergio Díaz De Rojas (Peru), join in a piano celebration not to be missed. Established composers and performers in contemporary classical each, three composers guide you through a colourful and rich journey deep into the piano.

Nathan Shubert Biography
Contemporary composer Nathan Shubert (they/them) brings an intimate, observational approach to neoclassical music, poignantly reflecting our modern existence through felted piano, synth, and binaural field recording. Shubert, whose evocative third album ‘The Moon From Here’ came out in March 2022, recently toured Western Europe, gracing stages and festivals across Iceland, Denmark and Germany. Full of beauty and sadness, Shubert’s poignant self-reflections continue to captivate modern classical and piano fans worldwide.
