Ronojit Bhuyan Biography

Ronojit Bhuyan is a Concert Pianist based in London. He is currently studying his Masters in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Gabriele Baldocci and Mikhail Kazakevich from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London. He has received the Trinity College London Scholarship (TCL) for his studies in Trinity Laban for the year 2022-24. He is the winner of John Halford competition and second prize winner at Gladys Puttick for improvisation, 2023 in Trinity Laban. After beginning his studies in London from September 2022, Ronojit has performed over 20 solo and collaborative concerts in several venues across the UK such as St. James’s Piccadilly, Lansdowne Club, Mayfair for the Bluthner Piano Series, The Polish Hearth Club, Kensington, Nehru Centre London, Buckingham Gate Suites, St. Micheal’s Church, Sittingbourne and the Royal St. Katharine. During the lockdown Ronojit and his mother, Violinist- Sunita Bhuyan have performed over 75 online concerts from March 2020 - October 2021, some of them including Rolling Stones India, Amazon, NDTV Live, Hungama Music Festival, Better India and Stage Arts Live.

After successful completion of his undergraduate studies in Music from Trinity College London (Diploma-LTCL) and Psychology from St.Xaveirs, College, Mumbai, Ronojit has become an active Pianist and accompanist. His experience includes playing on a variety of Piano instruments /organs, harpsichord and church choir music. He is a working professional in the field of Private Piano teaching and Pedagogy. Ronojit has performed for several Masterclasses, some of the teachers include- Pascal Roge, Can Cakmur, Martino Tirimo, Pervez Mody and Aida Bissengalieva. Ronojit has performed with in the National Centre of Performing Arts and the Symphony Orchestra of India, performing the Bach Keyboard Concerto no.5 BWV 1056 and Shostakovich Piano Concerto no.2 op.102. Ronojit has appeared in numerous news channels and television broadcasts during various festival occasions for music performances and live talks. He was recently interviewed by Trinity College London in December, 2023, where he talks about the significance of Graded music exams and his musical journey to London.

Ronojit is being mentored by his mother violinist Sunita Bhuyan and grandmother veteran violinist Minoti Khaund on the nuances of creativity and spontaneity of the Indian classical style of music, which has greatly enabled him to perform with cross over artists like jazz sax  player Yati Durant of Edinburgh, Grammy winner of the Mohan Veena (Guitar) Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Gaelic violinist Alan Henderson, Indonesian harpist Maya Hasan amongst others. Some of the events and venues that he has performed for are Vibrant Gujarat,  Beyond Boundaries at Edinburgh Mela, "Eadarrain" for Glasgow Mela 2018, Weaving Peace for world trade centre Mumbai 2019, Cedep Europe summit, Fontainbkeau France 2018, Reed school of music Edinburgh 2018, "Songs of Spring" Kala Ghoda Festival Mumbai 2019,  70 years of India and Indonesia at Habitat Centre Delhi, YPO Washington, Bharatiya Bhavan New York, Nehru Centre London, Detroit, Chicago and Boston.
