Jason Didner Biography
Montclair, NJ based singer/songwriter Jason Didner doesn't just want you to listen to his music. He wants you to join in call-and-response moments, to howl and to laugh along with the observational humor sprinkled throughout his set list. His show is crafted to bond with his audience and give them a memorable evening feeling connected in a community.
Jason's lyrics often serve a purpose, such as helping his audience remember the absurdity of online life so they're not all consumed by it. He urges fans not to judge themselves themselves too harshly when they're locked out of their patient portal web sites. This artist gently reminds his listeners to talk to themselves as they would a friend, rather than the way they'd address a target for bullying.
These messages are set to a variety of rock and reggae styles, whether Jason is playing a solo acoustic show or jamming with his band Jason Didner and the Drive. Jason is often compared to Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, and Warren Zevon, who you will hear him covering, along with the music of local hero Bruce Springsteen.
Jason's best-known song is "You Can't Get There from Here in Jersey," which Asbury Park Press listed among the 10 best songs by NJ artists in 2022. Last spring Jason opened for Willie Nile at Outpost in the Burbs in Montclair, NJ.
