Sid Grimes

Sid Grimes began singing and playing professionally as a solo artist in Chicago in 2015. Shortly afterwards she teamed up with Paul Hala to form the acoustic duo Sid & Hala. Joining My Fellow Americans on rhythm guitar and vocals expanded her regional fan-base, but it was back in Chicago, in 2016, that she first took the stage alongside her own band the Rowdy Outlaws. In time, this became a very special group. Now living in Austin, Sid is once again a solo artist. Although she’s still a relatively new Texan, she did have the good fortune to play the celebrated Triple Crown in San Marcos in 2015, just before it closed forever. Sid is scheduling an upcoming solo Dive Bar Tour, including venues in San Antonio, Port Aransas, Galveston, and Dallas, for the Spring of 2022. Keep checking back for more information. Until those live shows begin, House of Cards, the debut EP from Sid Grimes & the Rowdy Outlaws, is available right now. These songs capture the band’s comfort with each other in the studio as they explore the kind of music Sid calls “existing in the vast land between the two established territories of Southern Rock and Underground Country.” She plays with a variety of sounds, colors, and topics that bloom from a life spent studying the works and vocals of John Fogarty, Bob Seger, Burton Cummings, Alanis Morissette, Joe Cocker, John Mellencamp and Florence Welch.
