Mary Scholz Biography

Mary Scholz’s stunning voice and evocative songwriting have made her a live circuit favorite for over a decade. With her unique brand of gritty folk-charm, the Philly born, LA based artist forges a personal connection with her audience every time she takes the stage, making a home in listeners’ hearts with her lyrical voice, introspective lyrics, and intricate guitar work.

Her 2022 record, Begin Again, produced by Jonathan Wilson, paints a panoramic, starry landscape, addressing how we process life internally, to how we respond as a community. Lonesome (2021) spent months on the Americana radio charts, with its sauntering, irresistible melody. Her latest release, Poems From Earth (2023), is a thoughtful walk through the woods, an Americana musing about life on this planet, where it's been, and where it's headed.

Teaming up with Taylor John Williams, Scholz released "While We're Still Young" in partnership with Blue Élan Records for the record of "My Friend: A Tribute to Rusty Young," which debuted at #9 on the Billboard Compilation Chart.

Scholz's 2024 tour calendar includes performances for Sundance Film Festival in Park City, SXSW in Austin, and the Americana West Music Fest.

“Her songbird vocals add a dose of comfort and extend a hand of optimism to the darkness of grief.” - Americana Highways
