Joe Lamy Music Biography

Hi everybody! My name's Joe, and thanks for visiting my page.

I play songs by The Beatles, Sting, XTC, Ben Folds, Rufus Wainwright, Joe Jackson, and a bunch more. I also write originals that I would insist defy categorization, but which I'm sure are blatant ripoffs of my heroes.
Speaking of which, here's one: https://www.facebook.com/joe.lamy.../posts/1081760188552316.

And let's be honest. These are songs that you need in your life. You know that crazy mixtape/playlist, the one where you can't figure out how these songs fit together, but you just keep going back to it? Yeah, that one.

Sometimes I'm solo, playing piano or acoustic guitar and singing, and sometimes my friends and family come up and join me. Sometimes I'm with my friend Miguel José, sometimes with the quite slayful Parker, and when the stars align, all three of us, The Trio Which Shall Not Be Named.

My full band is called The Best Part, with Dirk Donahue and Nick Zema, and we mostly play my originals, with some extra goodies like Ben Folds Five and The Grays.

Back in the day, I used to be in ghostbeat, in Melbourne, FL, with bryan tilford (dearly departed) and Ken Green. If you were there, you know.

When dinosaurs ruled the earth, I was in The Pedestrians at FSU. I played a lot of goofy stuff and got arrested in Twelve Hands and Feat in Cocoa Beach. And my first band, which played a total of one song, was called Moral Implications, which seemed like a good name at the time.

Ok, biography over. When (not if) you become completely smitten with my music and are ready to proclaim it to the world no matter the social cost, what should you do? Glad you asked. Come to my shows! Bring a friend along. Come up on stage and sing with me. Ask your friends to like my page. Share my posts and events. RSVP to my events - people want to know if any of their friends are going. Ask me for some of my music - I've got a lot that I haven't posted yet, and you'll be the first on your block! Hug someone. Call your mother.
