About this concert
Merel is artistic director of SNAAR Festival, an innovative festival on the connections between Music & Science.
Merel will perform in a show on musicality of birds, and she will perform in the evening concert which tells the life story of Rosalind Franklin, who played an important role in the discovery of DNA but never got the recognition she deserves. SNAAR commissioned a new opera about her life story.

Merel Vercammen Biography
Classically trained Dutch violinist who loves to improvise. Graduated with highest distinction from the Royal College of Music London and won several prizes. Artistic director of SNAAR Festival on Music & Science in TivoliVredenburg Utrecht. Performs the great violin-piano repertoire with pianist Dina Ivanova. Improvisation projects under the name The Zoo.
