About this concert
$15 Advance tickets available at the Lido bar.
MAJOR LOVE is the moniker of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Colleen Brown - and a collaboration featuring Alberta rock darlings Scenic Route To Alaska. Together, they make soulful folk-rock music for their hoser friends.
2024 sees Major Love returning with the cheeky sophomore full-length “Live, Laugh, Major Love” with distribution through Slow Weather (The Orchard). Recorded at the National Music Centre’s Studio Bell in Calgary, Alberta - with of slew of Randy Bachman’s borrowed guitars on hand - the new album showcases a live band in lockstep, with chemistry to spare. Produced by Marcus Paquin (The National, Julia Jacklin, The Weather Station, Mariel Buckley) these songs thrive at the intersection between Brown’s resonant vocal expression and SRTA’s spirited swagger...music to move body and soul.
AMY VAN KEEKEN is a songwriter, singer and musician based in Vancouver, BC. No Depression magazine says: “…all stand on their own…as pop classics, as far as I’m concerned. Because van Keeken has this way of plucking sounds from the thirties, forties, fifties and sixties and weaving them into modern gems.” -Frank Gutch Jr

Major Love Biography
Drawing inspiration from 1960's Motown and Stax, and slipping occasionally into soulful synth-pop anthems, Major Love thrives at the intersection between Colleen Brown’s resonant vocal expression and the spirited swagger of pop-rock trio Scenic Route To Alaska; music to move body and soul. Their sophomore record, "Live, Laugh, Major Love" - produced by Marcus Paquin (The National, Julia Jacklin, The Weather Station) drops May 17, 2024.
