We were at school together and our musical paths have criss-crossed over the years; Keith is a fabulous guitarist (in fact multi-instrumentalist - his pedal steel playing is to die for and his musicality is all over many of my albums !! We have been looking for some lovely gigs where we can get back to our roots and play whatever songs the mood dictates to us ...". In June 2020 Sally uploaded a YouTube video of her re-imagining of the Tom Jones song 'It's Not Unusual' to celebrate the venerable singer's 80th Birthday. So far it has racked up over 2.6 million views and divides opinion amongst fans of the Welshman's classic (you can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws6at5NlGtA ) She subsequently released this slowed down version a download single. Sally's version highlights the mournful and yearning lyrics to give the song new meaning. The significance of this recording ? Sally was Tom's finalist on The Voice UK in 2014 and although people mistakenly think she won, such was the impact she had on that show, Sally walked away without the main prize, coming in joint 2nd. Sally's career has been a long and varied one involving solo albums, bands, duo and trio projects however, in March 2020, all live music was cancelled due to the world-wide pandemic. Sally, like her fellow musicians, remained at home surviving, creating and occasionally live streaming. Sally's real talent is as a live performer and is excited to be back performing.
