Once-A-Month Punk, the premier showcase for punk, metal, and hardcore music in Hawaii, is proud to announce its one-year anniversary at the Irish Rose in Waikiki. This iconic event, held on the 20th of April, has been the pulse of the local music scene, bringing together a vibrant community of artists and fans dedicated to the raw energy and spirit of punk and its subgenres.
Sponsored by leading names in the alternative and action sports industries, including Black Flys, Dogtown Skateboards, 805 Brewing, Volcom, and Aloha Tattoo, Once-A-Month Punk has become a staple for enthusiasts and the curious alike, offering a unique blend of music, culture, and camaraderie.
April Anniversary Line-Up: A Fusion of Talent and Energy
The anniversary celebration boasts an impressive line-up featuring local legends and rising stars:
SMITZ: Since 2005, this ska/punk band has been a fixture in Hawaii’s music scene. Their album "Skullduggerus" showcases influences from punk rock luminaries like Operation Ivy, Rancid, and Green Day, promising a performance full of infectious energy and skank-worthy rhythms.
EL SANCHO: Hailing from the Big Island, EL SANCHO brings its punk prowess to Oahu once again. With their third album, "Heads Up!" recently released on vinyl, the band continues to impress, having shared stages with acts like Teenage Bottlerocket and Agent Orange.
13TH LEGION: Known for their hardcore punk energy, 13TH LEGION’s latest album, "FACE FIRST," is a testament to their relentless spirit. With tours in Japan and recent opening slots for punk giants like Suicidal Tendencies and JFA, they are a force to be reckoned with.
COMPLETELY INSANE: As pioneers of the Honolulu ska/punk scene, Completely Insane has captivated audiences for two decades with their dynamic performances and high-energy sound, as showcased in their 2018 album "All According to Plan".

El Sancho - Hawaii Biography
El Sancho is a fast, fun punk rock band from the Big Island of Hawaii. They've been together since 2019 and draw comparisons to bands like Descendents, Agent Orange, The Mr. T Experience and Screeching Weasel.
They've shared the stage with FEAR, MDC, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Teenage Bottlerocket, Supersuckers and many more.
Their third album "Heads Up!" was released on vinyl in 2023 and received significant college radio airplay across the country.
"Jollier Than Thou", El Sancho's 2nd album, is full of original holiday songs. The single "Merry Christmas Joey Ramone" was picked up by radio stations across the world, including SiriusXM, and featured on several "best holiday songs of 2021" lists, including The Huffington Post.
El Sancho is working on their fourth album and planning a West Coast tour for late 2024.
