About this concert
What a treat to feature Brightwell & Moran on The Artichoke stage for a Homecoming Concert! Artichoke has been an integral part of their career, as the award-winning songwriters actually met 10 years ago at an Artichoke Open Mic night and have been writing together ever since. Kelly Brightwell even purchased her current performance guitar at the Artichoke store. They have received critical acclaim for their most recent EP, “Land of Plenty”. Kelly Brightwell and Woody Moran will be joined on stage by great friend and pianist Jean-Pierre Garau. When you add Chris Baron & Two Secrets into the concert mix, this becomes a “Don’t Miss This” show!

Brightwell & Moran Biography
Brightwell & Moran celebrate the release of their third EP, “Land of Plenty”. This new collection of songs was written over Zoom at the height of the pandemic and reflects both the difficult times and hopeful moments of that historic period. The Portland duo partnered with producer Dean Baskerville (Sheryl Crow, Pink Martini) to create an energetic soundscape featuring their trademark acoustic guitars and harmonies enhanced with electric guitars and string arrangements. River City Folk host Tom May likens their sound to “a smoky uptown New York nightclub in the early 1960's, with two great singers who weave an irresistible spell."
This new EP comes on the heels of their recently released single “Bare Boards”, which won the 2022 Talent is Timeless Global Songwriting Competition. Talent is Timeless is a UK based organization dedicated to amplifying the voices of songwriters over 50. The grand prize was a recording session at Abbey Road Studios, where Brightwell & Moran worked with a hand-picked group of players to re-envision the song as an upbeat Country Folk tune. 2021 Contest Winner and Judge Fergus McNeil said "I was looking for a strong lyric that avoided cliche … a perspective of someone with life experience, facing the challenges that come to you at that time of life. Hand on heart, 'Bare Boards' was my favorite”
“Land of Plenty” is now available on all digital platforms, with a limited release physical CD + bonus track available through their website or at live shows.
