The Spine Stealers and Ross Thorn are coming to Eau Claire! The Spine Stealers are a folk duo hailing out of Madison who won the Blue Ox 2023 Virtual Band Competition and have been making waves on the Midwestern folk scene since. They Make spooky folk influenced by the northwood pines, 24/7 truck stop diners, heartbreak and dark lakes. Ross Thorn is an up and coming Americana artist out of Duluth and earlier this year, he was selected by Trampled by Turtles to open for them and Jenny Lewis. With a pastoral upbringing in northern Wisconsin, Ross Thorn’s music emanates as a warm and soulful hymn, waking up optimistically beside a snow covered window. His sharply crafted lyrics – distinctly reminiscent to the likes of Jason Isbell – reveal internal struggles of empathy, questions of human character and virtue, and a search for hope – often finding solace in some unanticipated truth.
