About this concert
Celebrated music historian and DJ, Duane Powell returns to dedicate the first installment of the 2024 Rear View Mirror Sessions to the iconic husband & wife duo Ashford & Simpson. Following this one-of-a-kind music lecture, the show will close with an inspired musical tribute by Keya Trammell and Erthe St, James. Reception begins at 6PM | Program beings at 6:30PM There is free parking after 4pm in the lot on 60th and Drexel. Guests can enter on 60th. There is also free street parking on Midway Plaisance in front of the Logan. This program is presented in collaboration with the Center for the Study of Race, Politics, and Culture (CSRPC), Soundrotation, the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, and BrainTrust Management

Erthe St James performed an amazing show at the Untitled Supper Club. It was a very intimate show and I enjoyed every minute. I wish I could have stayed until the end but there was a time limit on our table so we were forced to leave.

A native from the Westside of Chicago. This Modern Soul singer has obtained the ability to intertwine genres to create his own unique blend of Soul, Jazz, & Funk.

Playing Chicago venues, with his band, The ErtheTones, such as City Winery, Untitled Supper Club, House of Blues, Navy Pier, The California Clipper, The Promontory, and opening for artist such as Erykah Badu, Estelle, Mali Music, Jamison Ross, SUCH, Rudy Currence, Conya Doss, Tye Tribbet, & Nikki Giovani.

£rthe has been featured on the albums, R.O.E's "LIVE in Chicago" [2015], Lili K's "Ruby" [2015], The whoEVERs?'s "Marathon" [2016], Tovi Khali's, "French Quarter Style" [2017], Neak’s “KWESBAAR” [2019], R.O.E’s “Radiant” [2020], Flowers For The Living’s “Bouquet of Beautiful” [2021] and on the 2017 documentary, "Got The Love: A Soul Music Documentary”. £rthe has also been featured on Chicago’s WGN Mid-Day News.
