About this concert
THE MARY JANE JONES This 9-member original multi-genre all-star band from Western Mass now features keysman Beau Sasser (Kung Fu, Z3, Mojo Wagon) with singer/songwriter Mandy Pachios, bassist Chris Ball, guitarist Dan Thomas, bluesman Brother Sal at the drums, Jeff Fennell on tenor sax, multi-instrumentalist Steve Yarbro, Nick Borges on trumpet, and Kat Ball on the slide trombone. Finding inspiration from artists like Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Tina Turner, and Marvin Gaye, The Mary Jane Jones honors the legacy of jazz, blues, rock, and soul with passion and respect, making music with a chemistry and swagger reserved for old friends and superheroes. They've opened stages for national acts including NRBQ, Dustbowl Revival, and Squirrel Nut Zippers, and perform at community resource and fundraising events like Springfield's Stars & Stripes Day for veterans and their families and Performance Live Tribute Music Fundraiser for arts enrichment in Northampton public schools. "What began as a modest jazz-inspired outfit has become a tight act geared toward serious dancing, incorporating soul, R&B, funk, rock and a full horn section for extra punch." Ken Maiuri's Clubland, Daily Hampshire Gazette "A guaranteed good time." Sheryl Hunter, The Greenfield Recorder "If you’ve never seen The Mary Jane Jones’ live performance before, now would be the time. The band features a heavy horn section, virtuoso guitar playing, and one of the best vocalists in the Pioneer Valley - Mandy Pachios - who sings with a jazz and blues flair that’s electrifying and resonates in your soul." Chris Goudreau, The Valley Advocate Produced by in-house recording engineer Chris Ball at Fun Room Studio in Greenfield, MA, their long-awaited album is set for release later this year. https://themaryjanejones.bandcamp.com BROWN BONES Turning personal history into relatable urban-folk songs, Brown Bones is the acoustic songwriting vehicle of visual artist, musician, and Grammy nominated record producer, Andrew "Moon" Bain in partnership with vocalist and bass player, Cinamon Blair (Rebirth, Pamela Means Band.) Rich in story and intimate folklore, Brown Bones pulls from an ancestral place, interweaving minimal and modern textures, lyrics, and harmonies with intoxicating freshness. https://brownbones.bandcamp.com THE MARIGOLD THEATER, Bar & Cabaret is a spacious room showcasing the stage and a large hardwood dance floor. The Marigold is wheelchair accessible and features table seating, a full bar, and friendly staff mixing the tastiest craft cocktails both with and without alcohol.
