Sierra Hull Biography
Sierra Hull is widely regarded to be a master of her instrument; A two-time Grammy Nominated artist, recognized for both her most recent projects, 25 Trips (2020) and Weighted Mind (2016), she is also the 6x recipient of IBMA’s Mandolin Player of the Year, the first woman to ever do so. A pioneer and beacon for acoustic music throughout her already impressive multi- decade career, she has captivated the country's most iconic stages, including Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry and the White House. Her virtuosic abilities have garnered respect from luminaries, such as Alison Krauss and Béla Fleck. Widely considered one of root’s music’s most inventive artists, she is a revered cross-genre collaborator with friends and icons like (Sturgill Simpson, Béla Fleck, Brad Paisley, Indigo Girls, Dolly Parton, Brandi Carlile, Garth Brooks, Dierks Bentley, Cory Wong, Chris Thile, Alison Krauss, Bobby McFerrin, Edgar Meyer and Rhiannon Giddens).
Originally hailing from Byrdstown, Tennessee, she remains deeply rooted in the Bluegrass community, yet continually inspired, involved and excited by the ever-evolving roots scene.
