Jazz/Pop vocalist Janet Paulsen is known for her carefully curated shows, thoughtful interpretation of lyrics, and passionate delivery. “It’s A Lovely Day Today” features songs that were sung by Doris Day, Dinah Shore and Ella Fitzgerald. Some of the songs are from albums they recorded with the famous conductor/pianist Andre Previn. These three women were the only female jazz singers he recorded with. Janet will be performing with Anthony Pocetti on piano.

Janet Paulsen Biography
Janet Paulsen has been singing her whole life. Growing up in Johnstown, Pennsylvania she sang in church and was often asked to sing at weddings and charity events. She received a scholarship to Carnegie Mellon University and began her formal training in opera. She then went on to perform with a variety of opera companies in New England and the Midwest.
A job relocation landed Janet, her husband Bill, and their daughter Laura in California. Janet explored a different music genre by becoming lead singer in a nine-piece rhythm and blues band. When the family moved to Baltimore, her love of tennis led to a ten-year stint as the General Manager of Green Spring Racquet Club.
During the pandemic Janet realized how much she missed singing and she began exploring songs from the Great American Songbook. Her dream is to create an ambiance of Cocktail Chic Music for the Baltimore area. Janet and her husband live in Lutherville, Maryland with their Yorkie, Peanut.
