Marina Avros Biography
Marina Avros is an award winning singer-songwriter who has performed internationally as both a solo artist and with her band the Belle Miners.
Born and raised on Vancouver Island under the beaming light that streams off of the Comox Glacier, Marina Avros writes "delightful and genuine songs with memorable melodies, brilliant guitar rhythms and one-of-a-kind vocals." - Ben Dunsmuir
For 14 summer seasons Marina spent her time watching over the boreal forest in a forest Fire Lookout. Completely immersed in nature writing countless songs, it's easy to understand why her compositions are described by Keisha Quinn as being “like golden mist caught in a strong wind twisting into patterns and sparkling in the gentle muted sun.”
“the haunting combination of her clear, breathy voice, her approach to melody and her non-traditional twists on a lyric – lyrics that, at times, become a part of the instrumentation, distinguish her as an exceptional artist in no time flat.” Eric Thom, rootsmusic.ca
