About this concert
Join us every Friday night for the Spring Friday Night Concert Series April 5th- May 3rd, where you’ll hear jazz, rock, reggae, gospel, and more. A full block along Broadway is shut down for pedestrian use only to ensure enough space for dancing and air guitars. Kids dance stage left and parents dance stage right. Pull up a table at one of our many locally owned and operated restaurants or grab a lawn chair and blanket to make it a night your whole family will enjoy. Featuring live music by Frankie Mincey + Saxappeal.

Saxappeal Biography
Saxappeal's mission is to rekindle the flame between people and good music… ‘SaxSoul’ as he calls it. With a passion deeper than anything he can explain, he blends jazz, hip-hop, soul, and R & B to tell stories and celebrate the gift of love through music. Comfortably known as “Sax,” this Detroit born and bred Grammy nominated saxophonist has been playing since the tender age of 7. Now, the 2-time Grammy Nominated 38 year-old artist brings love, pain & every emotion in between each time he sets foot on stage. Saxappeal has had the privilege of performing with Grammy Award winning artist, and fellow Detroit native, Dwele since 2005. He’s also toured with R&B vocalist, K'Jon, France born duo Les Nubians, R&B legend Leon Ware, London's powerhouse duo Floetry, and Grammy nominated Indie-Soul artist, Eric Roberson. Previously, Saxappeal toured with 11-time Grammy nominated vocalist, (and former lead singer of The GAP Band) Charlie Wilson, for 6 years. Mr. Wilson opened for Bruno Mars’ XXIVK (24 karat) Magic Tour, Saxappeal also lends his talents to Zo! & TallBlackGuy, wsg DeBorah Bond of The Foreign Exchange. This artist, producer, and music educator has truly been humbled by his opportunities and eagerly awaits more.
