Bonsai Bay

Psych-rockers 'Bonsai Bay' have been taking to stages across Brisbane since late 2020. Their sound is a unique blend of heavy tones, punchy riffs and quirky keys inspired by alternative & psychedelic rock sensibilities reinforced by high-octane live performances. ‘More Chilli’ is the first single off Bonsai Bays debut LP. Recorded in 2023 with producer Joel Myles at Brisbane’s Hunting Ground Studios, ‘More Chilli’ is a psychedelic journey through a pokie machine universe of heavy riffs, punchy drums and whacky synthesizer. The song is about 'the pokies' , but pays homage to an older machine called ‘More Chilli’. The music and lyrics reference a sinister and insatiable beast, while samples and mimicry create a familiar soundscape for those in the know.
