Taylor Hughes, best known as pure xtc, grew up in Baltimore, MD where she honed her skills behind the drum kit and began touring the united states and Canada in 2010. Fast forward a decade and a global pandemic Hughes shifted her focus on songwriting and vocals.

from 2020 - 2022 pure xtc debuted her first solo effort, Nobody’s Home(EP) followed by a performance at PrideFest in Kansas City in front of hundreds. In just two years pure xtc released two EP’s, played 4 festivals including The Dinah Shore and successfully toured both east and west coasts.

pure xtc has shared the stage with acts such as Fletcher, Dashboard Confessional, Jenny Lewis(Rilo Kiley/ The Postal Service)and more. pure xtc’s unique brand of brooding pop has landed on Apple Music’s “New In Alternative” editorial playlist and dozens of radio stations worldwide including NPR.
